Welcome!HelloMy great pleasure to offer this website to you. I have been a passionate supporter since discovering Tai Chi Chuan almost 30 years ago. It has been an adventure in learning and understanding, and I am blessed for my introduction and for sticking with my practice during the difficult times. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and am drawn to teaching small classes and helping my students. I am most happy when I see the lightbulb turn on and the student understands new knowledge. I have been teaching in Northern Virginia for many years in different locations including my own living room! During the Covid Pandemic, I began teaching exclusively on Zoom and we did that for several years and coming back to in person classes in 2023. On this page are several pictures of my first trip to China as well as my receiving a diploma for one of the many seminars I have studied with our Grandmaster – Master Yang Jun. I need to give acknowledgements to many fine people who served as my teachers, and mentors and helpful guiding hands along my path…. First my teacher in Winchester for many years – Sifu Pat Rice without whom I would not be the student or teacher I have become. Of course, Master Yang Jun and his grandfather Master Yang Zhenduo with whom not only I studied in person but spent countless hours of studying VHS, DVD, and on-line videos, truly my inspiration. Then there are the teachers in the Yang Family Style who offered helping hands including Bill Walsh, Holly Sweeney-Hillman, Han Hoong Wang, and Audi Peal. Of course, there is my roommate from my first China trip who became a strong friend and mentor, Michael Coulon. From Qi Elements where I have been teaching classes for as long as I remember, Roger Blough, and my senior student Marc Friedman. I have learned much from them. And then there are teachers from whom I have taken classes who shaped my learning and to whom I am ever so grateful including Master Nick Gracenin, Dr Yang Jwing Ming, Master Sam Masich, and Master Shou Yu Liang. Let me finish by thanking all my Tai Chi family, all my classmates and saying my teaching is dedicated to honor and to respect all my teachers. |
